The full page appears in your browser. Stream, read, scroll — just like a direct connection, minus the restrictions.

Stuck on a blocked page? Here's what's actually happening

You go to open YouTube, Reddit, or Facebook. Instead of the page you wanted, you're looking at a grey error screen that says "Access Denied" or "This site is blocked." The website hasn't disappeared — your network has been told to stop traffic going to it.

Firewalls at schools and workplaces work by maintaining a list of domains they want to intercept. When your device makes a request that matches one of those domains, the router drops the connection before it ever reaches the internet. Geo-blocking works differently — the destination site itself checks your IP address against a geographic database and refuses to serve content if you're in the wrong region.

Both problems have the same solution: route your request through a server that isn't subject to either restriction.

That's exactly what Proxy24 does. When you type a URL here, your browser connects to our server, not to the blocked site directly. Our server — which is outside any local firewall and registered in a neutral location — fetches the page and delivers it back to you. The firewall sees traffic to Proxy24. The target site sees a request from our infrastructure. You see the page you wanted.

What happens to your connection

Without a proxy, the path is: you → blocked site — and the filter sits in that gap and cuts the connection. With Proxy24:

  1. 1Your browser sends an encrypted request to Proxy24.
  2. 2Proxy24 forwards the request to the target site from our server.
  3. 3The site responds to Proxy24 — it never sees your IP.
  4. 4Proxy24 returns the content to your browser over HTTPS.

Your network admin sees: An outbound HTTPS request to proxy24.net.

The destination site sees: A request from Proxy24's server. Your IP is never logged.

You get: The complete, unfiltered page — including video, scripts, and interactive features.

Why Proxy24 over the other free proxy sites

Most free proxy tools are either slow, riddled with pop-up ads, or break on any site that uses JavaScript heavier than a 2010 blog. We built Proxy24 differently after testing the competition:

1. Built for video and streaming

Most proxies fall apart the moment you try to play a video — the player loads, buffers for ten seconds, then freezes. Our routing infrastructure is provisioned specifically for high-bandwidth media. YouTube, Twitch, and other video-heavy platforms load and play in HD without the stop-start cycle that makes other proxies unusable for anything but text.

2. Privacy that goes beyond hiding your IP

  • Full HTTPS: Every connection between your browser and our server is TLS-encrypted. Nobody on your local network can see what you're requesting.
  • No session logging: We don't write URLs, timestamps, or IP addresses to disk. There's nothing to hand over because nothing is stored.
  • No tracking scripts: We don't run third-party analytics or ad networks on this page. The only data processed is what's necessary to route your request.

3. Works on every device without installing anything

Proxy site vs. VPN — picking the right tool

The two tools solve overlapping problems but aren't interchangeable. Here's an honest comparison:

FeatureProxy SiteVPN
Best forUnblocking specific URLs in a browserSystem-wide protection across all apps
SetupNone — open the page and goApp install + account required
CostFreeTypically $5–$15/month
Encryption scopeYour browser tab onlyAll traffic leaving your device
Speed impactMinimal for browsing and videoVaries; full-device tunnelling adds overhead

For opening a blocked site quickly — at school, at work, or while travelling — a proxy is the faster and simpler choice. For protecting your entire device on untrusted public Wi-Fi, a VPN is more appropriate. Many people use both for different situations.
